Power Beyond the Surf: How Saltrock
and The Wave Project Are Transforming Young Lives

Saltrock and The Wave Project have shared a belief in the power of the ocean to change lives. Today, we're proud to take that partnership even further.
As part of a new three-year commitment, Saltrock is aiming to help raise more than £200,000 for The Wave Project, supporting its life-changing Surf Therapy programmes that help children and young people build confidence, improve wellbeing and feel connected to their communities.
At a time when 1 in 5 young people are experiencing a mental health challenge and over 500,000 children and young people are waiting for support, early intervention has never been more important. Through the healing power of the ocean, trained volunteers and supportive communities, The Wave Project is helping young people find confidence, belonging and hope.
A Partnership Built on Shared Values
Since 2022, Saltrock has worked alongside The Wave Project to help support children and young people across the UK.
From fundraising initiatives and customer donations through our Pennies scheme to awareness campaigns and community activities, our customers and teams have helped make a real difference. Now, with our new strategic partnership, we're committing even more support through direct funding, fundraising and storytelling that helps shine a light on the incredible work The Wave Project delivers every day.
"At Saltrock, we've seen first-hand the difference The Wave Project makes to young people and their families. We're incredibly proud to be building on this relationship through a long-term commitment that not only raises vital funds but also helps increase awareness of the important work they do across the UK."

Building confidence, one wave at a time
More Than Just Surfing
The Wave Project often says that surfing is simply the vehicle. What creates lasting change is the sense of connection, belonging and achievement that young people discover through the programme.
One former participant, Aaron, described Surf Therapy as being "10% surfing and 90% community". After joining Surf Therapy feeling anxious and isolated, he went on to become a volunteer Surf Mentor himself, helping other young people build confidence through the programme.
This is the ripple effect of Surf Therapy. The impact reaches beyond the beach and into homes, schools, friendships and communities.
