Artisan Summer Collection: A Journey From Garden to Garment

Our new summer collection is all about the creativity and passion of our talented designer, Callie. The Artisan Collection isn't just a range of beautiful clothes; it's a celebration of handmade craftsmanship and the beauty of nature.

Cyanotype Making Journey

Cyanotyping is magic because it’s so unpredictable, you never quite know what results you'll get! This element of surprise is part of what makes each print so special and one-of-a-kind so suits so well in our new collection.

The journey for our Artisan collection began with Callie making cyanotypes. "It was the first time I’d ever made cyanotypes, and I loved the unpredictable nature of the process"

"I hand-made these cyanotypes in the garden and knew I wanted to create a repeat print with them instantly, I’ve been really looking forward to seeing these come to life!"  Says Callie

The organic, natural shapes formed within the cyan colour make for a totally unique print for our new summer collection.

After creating the cyanotypes, Callie scanned her images and started assembling them into a repeat print:

"I pulled them together into a repeat, cropping each piece into blocky shapes to create the hand-made collaged feel," she described. This process made sure the final print kept the authentic and raw beauty of the original handmade cyanotypes.

The Perfect Summer Collection For Women

When the designers began planning our Artisan Story, Callie knew that her print would be a perfect fit. "It brings together our colour palette and has the natural, rustic feel that we wanted to achieve," she said.

Now, the collection is live: "I’m so happy to finally see these pieces just how I imagined them!" Our senior graphic designer Lucie saw the Larran Cyanotype Midi Woven Dress in our Braunton store and immediately bought and wore it in head office!

“As soon as I saw the dress as a sample I knew then and there I had to have it once it hit stores!” – Lucie
