Woolacombe has been voted the best beach in the UK and 4th in Europe according to reviewers on travel site TripAdvisor, raising eyebrows globally and giving holiday makers food for thought as they book this year’s holidays.
Matt Levick, Manager of Saltrock Woolacombe is delighted but not surprised. “Woolacombe is an awesome beach,” he says. “It’s beautiful, it’s clean and it stretches for miles so there’s plenty of room for everyone. There is excellent surf but its also safe for bathing, the water’s clean, there are rockpools of the kids to play in and stunning dunes behind. There’s loads to do in Woolacombe, and of course the shops are excellent! What more can you ask for?”
Charlie from the Woolacombe team agrees. ‘There isn’t anywhere else you’d rather be,” she says. “With endless sands, sea and beautiful people, what more could you want!”
Woolacombe was voted best beach in the UK, 4th in Europe and 13th in the world. Not a bad result for a little seaside village in North Devon.
Saltrock has stores in 3 more of the top British beaches. Porthminster Beach in St Ives, Fistral Beach in Newquay and Hengistbury Head in Bournemouth all bagged places in the list of Top 10 British Beaches.
Weymouth Beach in Dorset and Sandbanks in Poole also made the top 10 and Saltrock stores will open in both locations in the next few months.
“We’re delighted that so many beaches close to Saltrock’s heart feature in the TripAdvisor list,” says Saltrock spokesperson Katie Goodfellow. “With hundreds of thousands of wonderful beaches around the world this is a great opportunity to showcase these great British beaches and our magnificent coastline.”
