Andrei Burton's Christmas Wish List

Saltrock Ambassador and extreme Trials Rider Andrei Burton spends most of the year on the road, travelling to international competitions, events, TV appearances and displays. He's rarely in the same place for long and frankly has more energy then anyone, ever!

We caught up with Andrei in a rare moment of calm to find out what he's up to this Christmas, and what's on his Wish List this year.

"I love Christmas and spend it hanging out with my family and friends, quite literally as I like to spend a lot of time at the climbing wall in the dark winter months. I’m on the road and overseas so much it’s great to have a few days at home in Devon with family and friends, my iguana Django and my cat Molly.

A highlight for me is the Christmas Day Swim down in Exmouth. That’s the best way to start Christmas Day and is a tradition I’ve been doing for about 8 years now. I celebrate the New Year in the sea too, by spending the 1st January surfing in North Devon.

I still train though. Where I live in Exeter is so close to so much perfect riding terrain that I’d never miss it. And if I have a day off it’s always in the back of my mind that people I compete against could be out there riding and improving, so I can never sit still for long, not even at Christmas."

"Things I love about Christmas are the presents and food! Everyone’s excited and in a great mood, and it’s such a great time to catch up with friends. And who can resist a cheesy Christmas movie?!

Even though I eat quite healthily all year I love Christmas food and an excuse to get stuck in to chocolate and ice cream! I’m a terrible cook but luckily for me, my Mum and girlfriend are amazing so I can’t wait for Christmas dinner."

I wore the new black Saltrock pyjamas on the photoshoot and they are seriously ninja – so stretchy and comfortable that I’m considering wearing them on the next Ninja Warrior!

Saltrock fur lined hoodies are my all-time favourite thing. They’re so warm! Perfect for between shows or the ride home after a day riding on the moors, Riders is a classic and its definitely time I got myself a new one!

And softshell jackets are perfect for riding in – they’re super lightweight and not too hot. I already have a couple from Saltrock but the Hornet Softshell looks great and is definitely on my Christmas Wish List!

Lastly because I’m always on the road I love backpacks and this one’s brilliant, compact with loads of compartments and a safe pocket for an iPad. Definitely on my Christmas list."
