The Saltrock Open will now
take place on Sunday24th and Monday 25th May in order to take advantage
of the better swell forecast for Sunday and Monday.
A good chart means a slight
alteration in the event days as registration will now take place on the Sunday
morning as opposed to the original Saturday start. Record numbers of crowds are
expected in Croyde over the weekend to watch the truly exceptional talent lined
up to ensure that this event opens the tour with a bang. The site at Downend
will be buzzing with competitors as this years event has the highest number of
entries for any UK Pro Tour event to date.
Organisers can now confirm
that Kingofwatersports.com will be providing a top of the range skateboard for
the highest scoring waves of men and women for the duration of the event.
Relentless Energy drink will also continue their support of the event by
providing £250 for the surfer who performs the biggest Aerial, last year won by
Reubyn Ash of Bude
Christian
Surfers will be onsite providing food for the competitors and raising awareness
of Surf Relief UK and their mission to help disadvantaged and disabled children
enjoy surfing. Water for riders and officials is kindly provided by
Devon Hills and of course other refreshment again supplied by joint sponsor
Relentless.
The change of
date will mean that the official mid event celebration will take place on the
Sunday night. A chance to chill in The Thatch Barn Inn with a 10% discountfor competitors and officials on all meals
ordered.
